If there is such an opportunity, then the best option would be to check directly with your trainer which weight gloves will suit you. If this is not possible, use the following rules:

For children ages 4-10, 6-ounce mitts are suitable. (It is worth noting that some trainers practice even with small children in 10 oz. gloves, so that the children immediately get used to the heavy gloves).

• Athletes weighing 50-65 kg will be fine with 10 oz gloves.
• Athletes who weigh 65-75 kg are better off using 12 oz gloves.
• For athletes weighing more than 75 kg, 14-16 oz gloves are suitable.
