Policosanol contains several long-chain fatty alcohols, including octacosanol, hexacosanol, and triacontanol. Animal studies and in vitro studies have shown that these compounds may support the cardiovascular system and inhibit lipid peroxidation, as well as support macrophage activity.

Recommendations for use
Take 1 tablet daily in the evening. Source Naturals recommends taking at least 30 mg of Coenzyme Q10 with one tablet of policosanol. Some studies suggest that the level of Coenzyme Q10 in the body may be reduced by compounds that act on the same metabolic pathway as policosanol.
