Rutin (also known as vitamin P) is a bioflavonoid, a plant pigment that is found in significant amounts in certain vegetables and fruits. It is present in the skins of citrus fruits, black currants, bell peppers, buckwheat, onions, and others.

Vitamin P is well soluble in water and enhances the action of vitamin C. Rutin, in combination with vitamin C (ascorbic acid), reduces the permeability and fragility of capillaries, strengthens capillary walls, and possesses powerful antioxidant properties.
