Borage oil is a dietary oil that consists of 60% polyunsaturated fats and has approximately twice the average gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) content than evening primrose oil. GLA is an essential fatty acid that the body can produce from dietary linoleic acid; however, it can be utilized more effectively for bodily functions when obtained directly from dietary sources. Studies have shown that borage oil does not contain harmful levels of pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA). NOW® borage oil is expeller-pressed and hexane-free.
