Product information. Methylfolate from KAL contains (6S)-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). Folic acid is intended to provide nutritional support for normal healthy DNA synthesis, homocysteine metabolism, and cardiovascular system function. A woman who follows a healthy diet and has sufficient folate in her body can reduce the risk of having a child with a birth defect of the brain or spinal cord. For pregnant women, folate intake should not exceed 250% of the daily value (1000 mcg).
