Folic acid must first be converted into its active form through a series of biochemical steps before it can be utilized by the body. Metafolin® (L-methylfolate) does not require conversion as it is bioidentical to the bioactive form. In other words, it is "body-ready." This may be beneficial for individuals whose bodies have difficulty converting folic acid into its active form. The active folate in this formula supports heart health.
