Description

Betaine hydrochloride NOW® is designed to support proper digestive health in the stomach. Hydrochloric acid (hydrochloride) is typically produced in the stomach, where it aids in protein digestion by activating pepsin, helps maintain a healthy balance of gut flora, and stimulates the release of digestive enzymes. Pepsin is a protease produced in the stomach that partially breaks down protein in food. Hydrochloride production tends to decrease with age, so supplementing with hydrochloride and pepsin may help maintain normal digestion. This product uses a vegetarian acid-resistant protease with activity equivalent to that of animal-derived pepsin.

Recommendations for use
Take 1 capsule at the beginning of each meal. Do not take on an empty stomach. Do not take if you have a stomach or duodenal ulcer.
